Fear of the unknown is definitely the key, or rather potentially having to deal with the consequences of the unknown. I'll be honest, though, I thought the figure would be more than 20%. Is epilepsy something that usually gets disclosed during the employment process? It's pretty scary (if the statistic is correct) that 1 in 20 will have an epileptic seizure at some point in their lives and yet awareness of the condition is so dismal.
It's my aim to educate the masses so people aren't afraid anymore because they know what is going on. Small steps are to be taken and this is just starting to lay the foundations for it
Great stuff Dan thanks for putting this up. This is the kind of thing I want to promote and hope to get the ball rolling on getting something like this up and running.
Its frustrating to that something so well know is so judged. As with most things like this It is fear of the unknown.
